As we all adjust to living with the consequences of covid-19, one thing’s for certain; nothing is certain.  What we are asked to do to protect ourselves and others continues to evolve in response to fast-moving developments, both at home and around the world.

At the time of writing, we’re waiting to find out the full implications of the recently discovered Omicron variant. The rules around mask wearing have already changed in England; with effect from the 30th of November face coverings are now mandatory in shops and shopping centres, in transport hubs and on public transport. Restrictions have also been imposed on travel with some destinations.

In addition, changes have been made to self-isolation requirements for those in close contact with anyone who may have been infected with the Omicron variant and the vaccine booster programme has been significantly ramped up.
