Following a period of sustained growth that culminated in substantial investment by 3i Infrastructure in 2021, SRL has expanded its finance team with the appointment of Andrew Pearson as Group Financial Controller.

Andrew joined the team in early February and brings with him a wealth of experience working in private equity backed businesses, most recently at Victorian Plumbing where he helped prepare for an Initial Public Offering. He will play a pivotal role in supporting SRL as it continues its high growth strategy, providing the board and other stakeholders with the regular, detailed information they need.

Andrew explains why the move to SRL was so appealing:

‘SRL is seriously ambitious and I saw the role as an opportunity to be involved in a high growth business where my expertise could add real value.’

Tim Smith, who joined SRL’s busy finance team in January 2020 and was instrumental in securing the 3i investment, moves to Head of Financial Planning and Analysis. In his new role, Tim will act as business partner to the senior management team, ensuring understanding of key financial metrics and enhancing strategic and operational decision-making across SRL. His proactive input will be pivotal in improving profitability, growing revenue streams, and ensuring SRL achieves its financial objectives.

The expansion of the finance team - which is now seven strong - follows the retirement of Mike Marrison last year and the appointment of John McLaughlin as Chief Financial Officer. It signals SRL’s intention to shore up its financial function in preparation for the next exciting stage in its journey.

With the finance team’s support, SRL is looking forward to a bright future that includes expanding its offering beyond the traffic management sector, investing in its physical infrastructure, and nurturing strategic partnerships to achieve its ambitious plans.
