Despite more than a few rainy days, spring is now upon us. And for SRL, this means that HAUC season is well underway. On Tuesday 19th April, we kicked off our annual programme of event exhibitions with the Newport HAUC at Celtic Manor, South Wales.

We set up a stand to showcase our wide range of traffic management products, including our industry-leading Urban 64 temporary traffic light system and ever-popular Radiolight and Pedlight solutions. The SRL team were also on hand to chat with delegates about traffic light rental, battery light rental, and all other manner of products and services that we specialise in. We were also happy to guide guests in the direction of their nearest depot – and with our network now standing at 21 locations – we can guarantee that customers will never be far from SRL service.

SRL is proud to be the UK’s number one supplier to the traffic management industry, and to continue providing great service, it’s essential that we keep up to date with sector developments. As well as being a chance to spread the world about SRL, HAUC shows allow us to better understand the climate of the traffic management industry and how this affects our customers.

The Newport HAUC played host to The National HAUC (UK) Convention “Delivering the Future”, which featured an interactive round-table approach, with a mix of plenary and discussion sessions. The convention covered a range of hot topics in the industry, such as an increasing population generating greater traffic volumes, and how collaboration and innovation can deliver world-class infrastructure. The HAUC Convention proposed ideas of how professionals like SRL can meet these challenges, and we found it inspiring to see what others envision.

HAUCs are events run by The Highway Authorities and Utilities Committee (HAUC), an organisation which assists and advises the Government on issues relating to street works’ legislation, such as the implementation of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
