Senior Leadership Team

Mark Eburne

Chief Executive Officer

Mark stands at the helm of SRL, working closely with our board of directors to coordinate continual progress, ensuring that our values of quality, sustainability, customer service and value-for-money inform everything that we do, as we strive to expand and further cement our reputation as the best in the business. Mark is a seasoned CEO who joined SRL in 2024, bringing with him 25 years’ senior leadership experience gained in the utilities, hire and construction sectors.

John McLaughlin

Chief Financial Officer

John defines and coordinates the implementation of SRL’s corporate finance and accounting strategies, closely monitoring the company’s performance and driving the sustained corporate growth that has characterised the ambitious organisation since its launch in 1997. He joined SRL in 2021, having begun his career as an investment analyst with JP Morgan Asset Management before transitioning into corporate finance and gaining an impressive track-record working for a number of high-profile companies.

John Cleary

Managing Director - Major Projects

John’s role encompasses the development of SRL’s Urban64 operation. He forges relationships with local authorities and contractors, overseeing the end-to-end fulfilment of projects that will enable them to benefit from the pioneering signal solution, designed to safely and efficiently coordinate multi-directional flows of traffic and pedestrians. John joined SRL from university in 2011 in a business development capacity, building a strong understanding of the challenges faced by local authorities and the ways in which intelligent transport system (ITS) solutions can help to address these.

Alison Spooner

VMS Director

Alison steers SRL’s variable message sign (VMS) operation, identifying new markets and developing growth strategies to facilitate the company’s ambitious expansion plans for the product range. Alison works closely with sign manufacturer SWARCO and our operations team to coordinate SRL’s fleet of VMS, facilitating the efficient and cost-effective supply of state-of-the art solar-powered signs for our customers. One of SRL’s longest-serving members, Alison joined the business in 2008 and has a wealth of knowledge about the intelligent transport system (ITS) sector.

Dave Ingleby

Operations Director

A highly regarded figure in the rental industry, Dave joins the SRL team with over 35 years’ experience, working in several leadership roles at Hewden, Speedy, Jarvie Plant and latterly at Brandon Hire Station. Dave's experience of running multi-depot regions in the rental sector is well suited to this national role. Dave leads a team of over 100 operational staff fulfilling the operational needs of SRL's loyal customers.

Ben Parsons

Business Development Director

Ben leads SRL’s ongoing corporate expansion. He identifies commercial opportunities to grow the business and monitors the wider intelligent transport system (ITS) landscape to spot potential strategic partnerships that will enable us to continually evolve our product portfolio and bring our customers the very best leading-edge technology. Ben joined SRL in 2024, having spent 25 years in business development and sales roles in the infrastructure products and e-mobility sectors.

Iain McDonald

Research & Development Director

Iain drives the technological innovation on which SRL has built its name since its launch in 1997. He leads our dedicated research and development team, harnessing continually evolving, leading-edge technology for the benefit of our customers, creating a product portfolio of sustainable, state-of-the art intelligent transport system (ITS) solutions. Previously SRL’s business development director, Iain joined the company in 2022. An electrician by trade, he began his career installing traffic systems, before training as an electronic and commissioning engineer, later transitioning into business management.

Peter Almond

Key Accounts Director

SRL is one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of portable and temporary intelligent transport system (ITS) solutions. Peter oversees all aspects of manufacturing, from the procurement of best-in-class technologies and rigorous product testing, through to the continuous upgrade, preventative maintenance and repair of the company’s industry-leading fleet; ongoing signal refurbishment is key to SRL’s circularity business model. Peter joined the company in 2004 as technical manager, and his in-depth knowledge of ITS is second to none.

Richard Doyle

IT Director

Richard governs SRL’s IT systems, ensuring not only the efficient operation of the company as it strives to achieve its corporate goals, but crucially also the efficiency and security of the leading-edge technology platforms on which our intelligent transport system (ITS) solutions are based. His market insight provides SRL with a clear understanding of its performance, details of which are shared throughout the business to promote growth. He joined SRL in 2022, with over 20 years’ experience in technology leadership, having worked across a variety of industries ranging from banking and retail to government and manufacturing.

Sophie Noakes

Head of Marketing

Sophie is responsible for directing SRL’s marketing activity, which not only supports our ambitious commercial growth strategy but also facilitates the development and endurance of strong and fruitful relationships with our diverse group of stakeholders. Sophie joined SRL in 2022, with strong technology marketing credentials gained both in-house and at one of the region’s leading creative agencies. Holding a marketing degree from the University of Manchester, she has worked both in the UK and internationally.

Mark Gordon

SHEQ Manager

Safety first, always. SHEQ Manager, Mark, helps create a safe, healthy, sustainable, and high-quality working environment, contributing to SRL's long-term success. Having joined SRL in 2019, Mark has nearly two decades of experience driving best-in-class SHEQ process and procedural implementation and adoption.

Victoria Wood

Head of HR

Victoria underpins SRL’s ambitious commercial and technological development strategy by ensuring the ongoing development of a positive and dynamic workplace culture, designed to attract and retain the best people in the industry; people who give 110% to put the needs of our customers first at all times and who have helped us to earn our reputation as a leader in our field. Victoria joined SRL in 2024, following an HR career of almost 30 years during which she built considerable expertise in the field of corporate transformation.
