Ian Hunt

Chief Financial Officer

Ian joins SRL Traffic Systems as Chief Financial Officer, bringing over a decade of financial leadership experience and the internationally recognised CIMA qualification. His background spans senior roles across large, complex organisations in sectors such as healthcare, logistics and business services. Known for building effective relationships with financial and non-financial stakeholders alike, Ian brings a highly collaborative and commercially focused approach that will support SRL’s continued growth and performance.

Iain McDonald

REMOS Director

Iain drives the technological innovation on which SRL has built its name since its launch in 1997. He leads our dedicated research and development team, harnessing continually evolving, leading-edge technology for the benefit of our customers, creating a product portfolio of sustainable, state-of-the art intelligent transport system (ITS) solutions. Previously SRL’s business development director, Iain joined the company in 2022. An electrician by trade, he began his career installing traffic systems, before training as an electronic and commissioning engineer, later transitioning into business management.

Ben Parsons

Business Development Director

Ben leads SRL’s ongoing corporate expansion. He identifies commercial opportunities to grow the business and monitors the wider intelligent transport system (ITS) landscape to spot potential strategic partnerships that will enable us to continually evolve our product portfolio and bring our customers the very best leading-edge technology. Ben joined SRL in 2024, having spent 25 years in business development and sales roles in the infrastructure products and e-mobility sectors.

Chris Riley

Chief Operating Officer

Chris Riley brings over 20 years of expertise in business, operations, and manufacturing, with a proven track record of driving efficiency and growth. Previously Director of Operations at CRH, a global leader in cable ducting systems, Chris is renowned for building high-performing teams and fostering continuous improvement. His strengths include supply chain management, strategic planning, and operational excellence. As SRL’s Chief Operating Officer, Chris leads the optimisation of the manufacturing centre and the expansion of its product portfolio, including SolarLight, UltraLight, and REMOS. He is also spearheading the development of a new remanufacturing facility in Winsford, reinforcing SRL’s dedication to innovation and sustainability. He is also responsible for our Research & Development team.

Sam Low

Key Accounts Director

Sam began his career manufacturing and laying oak flooring before joining SRL in 2016. Starting as an Operative, he soon advanced to a Regional Supervisor role within a year, covering our Southern depots, often staying away five nights a week. After his dedication and hard work, Sam was promoted to Regional Manager in 2018, initially managing depots in Cambridge, Northampton, Nottingham and later expanding to include Leeds and Lincoln. Sam then switched to take on our four London depots (plus Cambridge and Northampton), giving him a whirlwind insight into operations in the capital. More recently, Sam has played a key role in overseeing HS2 projects, adapting to the unique demands of large-scale infrastructure where he thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Now, as Key Accounts Director, Sam works closely with Tier 1 contractors, bringing his extensive operational experience to strengthen strategic partnerships and support the delivery of complex projects.

Phil Smith

Regional Director | North West & Midlands

Phil Smith joined SRL on Valentine’s Day 2019, transitioning from a pub landlord to a Mobile Operative for better work-life balance. After rigorous training at the Nottingham depot, he covered London depots, facing physical challenges head-on. Six months later, his dedication led to a promotion as Regional Supervisor at the busy Wigan depot, where he improved efficiency and built a strong team. Now a Regional Manager overseeing five depots, Phil emphasises teamwork, supports staff development, and maintains client relationships, encouraging new starters to persevere for rewarding opportunities at SRL. Phil is responsible for the following depots in his region: Solihull, Telford, Nottingham, Lincoln, Wigan, Leeds

Richard Doyle

IT Director

Richard governs SRL’s IT systems, ensuring not only the efficient operation of the company as it strives to achieve its corporate goals, but crucially also the efficiency and security of the leading-edge technology platforms on which our intelligent transport system (ITS) solutions are based. His market insight provides SRL with a clear understanding of its performance, details of which are shared throughout the business to promote growth. He joined SRL in 2022, with over 20 years’ experience in technology leadership, having worked across a variety of industries ranging from banking and retail to government and manufacturing.

Stephen Daly

Regional Director | Scotland & North

Stephen joined SRL in 2014 as an operative at the Cumbernauld site and quickly progressed to supervisor, then regional manager in 2018, overseeing five depots. Responsible for logistics and customer service, he ensures timely equipment delivery and addresses customer needs. Stephen manages a team of 21, emphasising teamwork and customer satisfaction. He has played a key role in SRL's growth, including the opening of the Selkirk depot and handling significant projects like the £776 million Edinburgh Trams scheme. Looking ahead, Stephen believes SRL will continue to lead the industry with innovative technologies. Stephen is responsible for the following depots in his region: Inverness, Aberdeen, Cumbernauld, Selkirk, Carlisle and Newcastle.
