As 2024 draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on a year filled with innovation, expansion, and milestones. From ground-breaking product launches to key industry events, here’s what we’ve been up to this year…
We kicked off the year by launching the Euro Remote Control in February. This innovative solution provides a compact and efficient way to manage EuroLight signals, offering enhanced flexibility for operators. Additionally, the formalisation of our strategic partnership with CLD Physical Security Systems laid the groundwork for our award-winning Haul Route PLUS® solution within the construction industry.
In April, we were delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Eburne as our new Chief Executive Officer. With over 25 years’ senior leadership experience, Mark is a seasoned CEO and has worked extensively throughout the utilities, hire and construction sectors. He leads SRL as we embark on the next stage of its ambitious growth strategy, with a continued focus on serving customers with a unique rental and service proposition.
Spring marked the introduction of a revolutionary Offsite Build strategy for Urban64®. This method significantly reduces installation times and costs while improving efficiency and safety. By pre-assembling components offsite, we can cut installation time by up to 40%, enhancing overall project timelines and minimising disruptions.
In May, SRL expanded its reach by opening new depots in Basingstoke and Watford, ensuring improved regional support and quicker response times for our customers in the South of England.
The summer months were busy as we continued to strengthen our product lineup and industry presence. We introduced SolarLight™, a sustainable semi-permanent traffic light solution that supports eco-friendly traffic management, reducing emissions while maintaining high operational standards.
We were pleased to present at this year’s MOVA user group and exhibit at JCT Symosium in Nottingham.
One of the year’s highlights was our participation in Highways UK 2024. Here, we proudly unveiled REMOS™ and UltraLight™, two pioneering solutions designed to elevate temporary traffic signal systems. The response was overwhelmingly positive, cementing SRL’s reputation as a leader in cutting-edge traffic management solutions.
To strengthen our service provision, we introduced our Customer Contact Centre at our Head Office in Winsford, led by Tracy Sezol.
In Autumn we were delighted to make a series of appointments to our senior leadership team, we were joined by Ben Parsons, Business Development Director, Ian Chapman, Key Account Director, Victoria Wood, Head of Human Resources, Chris Riley, Manufacturing Director, John Mason, Managing Director Ireland and Richard Childs, Utilities Director.
We also introduced our new website (srl.co.uk / srltraffic.ie) built with a smoother, more intuitive and user-friendly experience at its core.
As the year winds down, we celebrate another RoSPA Gold Award win, reaffirming our dedication to safety and operational excellence. The opening of additional depots and further product refinements ensure we are well-prepared to meet the challenges of 2025.
