By consolidating smaller depots in Redditch and Coventry, we are streamlining our operations to improve equipment delivery and maintenance, ensuring traffic management solutions are deployed swiftly and effectively.
REMOS: The Future of Remote Traffic Signal Management
A key feature of the new depot is the launch of our pioneering REMOS system—one of the first scalable remotely operated temporary signal solutions. Following a series of successful trials, REMOS will initially support projects within a 1.5-hour radius of the depot before rolling out nationwide.
This innovative traffic signal solution integrates portable signal heads equipped with built-in CCTV cameras and remote traffic management control boxes (RTMC). These live-stream real-time data to the REMOS Control Hub within the depot, enabling remote monitoring and adjustments.
With REMOS, traffic management companies can reduce the need for on-site personnel, enhancing road worker safety while cutting labour costs and minimising carbon emissions. A single operator can oversee multiple locations, intervening when necessary to maintain optimal traffic flow.
A Hub for Innovation, Training, and Intelligent Transport Systems
Beyond its role in traffic management, the new Solihull depot will serve as our first national training centre. This facility will support ongoing staff development, ensuring teams are fully equipped to provide industry-leading mobile Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) solutions across the UK and Ireland.
