SRL’s innovative remotely operated traffic signal solution, REMOS, is now available through two clear and flexible hire models: Ad-Hoc Hire and Contract Hire.
This update brings REMOS in line with our wider traffic signal hire offering, replacing the previous REMOS Flex and Max models with a simpler structure that mirrors how customers already hire across the SRL range. Whether your project requires a short-term, reactive solution or a long-term, integrated deployment, REMOS now offers a hire model designed to match your operational needs.
To make the choice simple, we’ve summarised the key features of both hire models so you can identify the best fit for your operational needs.
Ad-Hoc Hire: A Fully Managed, Flexible Solution
If you need REMOS for short-term works or reactive requirements, Ad-Hoc Hire offers a flexible, responsive solution with:
- A minimum hire term of one day (including a minimum of six hours of monitoring).
- A minimum of two hours’ notice is required before deployment
- Delivery and collection managed entirely by SRL or arranged by you from your local SRL depot.
- Battery exchanges carried out by SRL or managed by your own team
Ad-Hoc Hire is ideal for projects where speed and flexibility matter. It allows you to scale usage as required, choose how much operational involvement you want, and access REMOS without long-term commitment.
Contract Hire: Long-Term Value With Greater Control
For ongoing or repeat deployments, Contract Hire provides a structured, cost-effective solution designed for long-term integration with:
- A minimum 12-month contract term applies
- Only a few hours’ notice is required before deployment – though additional notice always helps with planning.
- You are responsible for deployment and battery exchanges
- Battery performance is supported and monitored remotely via SRL Telematics
Contract Hire is best suited to organisations with consistent requirements and internal resource to manage deployment. It allows you to integrate REMOS into your existing workflows while benefiting from remote visibility and long-term operational stability.
What’s Included With Both Hire Models?
Whichever option you choose, you’ll receive the same innovative REMOS equipment and monitoring support including:
- Flexible monitoring hours — from peak-time coverage to full 7am–7pm oversight
- Signal monitoring via the SRL Control Hub
- AGM batteries supplied as standard
Which REMOS Hire Model Is Right for You?
Choosing the right hire model comes down to your project requirements and how you want to operate.
Whether you need a short-term, responsive solution, prefer greater SRL support, or are planning ongoing deployments with internal support in place, REMOS gives you the flexibility to operate your way.
