Building a cleaner, safer and more efficient road network together.

At SRL, we know our customers are working hard to deliver projects that are safe, efficient and increasingly lowcarbon. We share that ambition. As the UK’s leading manufacturer and hirer of portable and temporary traffic systems, we understand the impact our operations have on the environment and the role we can play in helping the sector move forward.

Throughout 2025, we focused on making practical, meaningful improvements to the way we work. A big part of this has been our fleet. It’s central to how we support customers, so we’ve taken steps to run it more efficiently – from improving journey planning and reducing idling, to introducing speed limiters and strengthening driver training.

These changes have made a real difference: our fleet emissions fell by almost 18% compared with the previous year, and our teams drove fewer miles by planning routes more carefully and using digital meetings where it made sense to do so. We also continued to grow our lowemission fleet, adding more hybrid and electric vehicles into everyday use.

We’ve made progress on the energy side too. Sixty percent of the electricity used across our depots now comes from renewable sources, and our solar installation at Winsford generated 31% more power in 2025 than it did the year before. As our manufacturing footprint expands, this shift to cleaner energy helps ensure the products we build and maintain are supported by a lowercarbon operation behind the scenes.

Innovation is another area where we’re pushing things forward. Products like SolarLight, RadioLight Pro and our solarpowered VMS and CCTV systems are designed to reduce site visits, extend running times and cut energy use. RadioLight Pro also reflects our growing focus on circularity, using remanufactured components from older units to reduce the need for new materials.

To give customers confidence in the progress we’re making, all our emissions data is independently verified under ISO 14064. We’ve also submitted a greenhouse gas reduction plan aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), setting out our pathway to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% by 2030.

Our aim is simple: to be a partner you can rely on – not just for equipment and service, but for responsible, transparent and forwardlooking operations. We’ll keep building on this work so we can support you in delivering greener, more resilient projects across the UK and Ireland.
