We’re proud to announce the delivery of SRL’s first long-term contract for the flexible REMOS™ package with Go Traffic Management (GTM).

Following the launch of REMOS™ in July 2025 – developed in association with GTM – this new agreement represents a significant step forward in how the solution can be deployed and scaled across the UK network.

SRL will deliver an initial 20 three-way REMOS bundles to GTM’s nationwide network of depots, with the option to supply a further 70 units in the first half of 2026.

By utilising REMOS’s remote-operational functionality, traffic signals can be monitored and adjusted off-site, helping to reduce the number of traffic management operatives required in live traffic lanes. This not only improves efficiency for GTM and its customers, but – most importantly – supports safer working conditions for road workers on the ground.

Why Road Worker Safety Matters

In 2023 alone, over 12,300 UK road workers reported verbal or physical assault by road users, with more than 50% experiencing abuse on a weekly basis. Between 2024 and 2025, 35 UK construction workers lost their lives, with 9% of fatalities involving moving vehicles.

These figures underline the urgent need for solutions that reduce exposure to live traffic environments – and place safety at the centre of traffic management operations.

GTM’s Contract Director, Simon Horrocks, commented:

“Road worker safety is of paramount importance to GTM and we are proud not only to have worked with SRL in REMOS’ development, but also to become the first traffic management specialist to sign a long-term contract with the company for its flexible REMOS package.

This allows us to provide customers operating short-term schemes with swift and extensive ad-hoc access to the high-performance solution.”

He added:

“As well as protecting road workers from accidents and abuse, REMOS guards against human error caused by fatigue or limited system visibility, and continues to perform even in poor weather conditions.

The environmental benefits are also significant, as fewer traffic management operatives are required to travel to site.

The three-year duration of the deal works well for us from a business perspective, enabling us to plan and resource with greater certainty and efficiency.”

SRL’s Business Development Director, Ben Parsons, also commented:

“REMOS is leading the way in the ongoing effort to improve road worker safety across the UK. Our contract with GTM will place this pioneering solution within reliable reach of customers operating short-term schemes nationwide.”

The partnership reflects a shared commitment between SRL and GTM to embrace smarter, technology-led approaches to traffic management – delivering effective safety benefits by reducing on-site exposure through remotely operated traffic management solutions.
