Improved Traffic Monitoring and Response
Agreed activation areas can be defined to trigger a response from the VMS, for example, in the instance congestion is growing. Users can be informed of the delay and given the opportunity to divert away from the site. In turn, contractors can benefit from fewer stakeholder complaints.
Motorway Communication
High-impact communication can be vital on motorways due to the high-speed nature of which vehicles are travelling. With this integration, similar to how overhead signs appear on the nation’s motorways when warning drivers, connecting the SRL High-Speed Messenger VMS to an Urban64 site can be used to inform road users of queues on the slip road or advise them to divert to another exit.
Configuration
VMS and Urban64 can be activated at distances of up to 400m distance, but for sites which have a long, straight, unobstructed view, (ie. dual-carriageways and motorways), the range can be up to 1 mile.
